Empire of storms book7/4/2023 ![]() ![]() What this means, of course, is that Aelin is more distant in this book. Her plan keeps the story from becoming exceedingly tedious. Aelin’s trying to gather an army, and as the story progresses, we get to know those she’s trying to make alliances with and those who are her foes. Overall, I think this was an excellent strategy for this book. I bring this story up because most of the book is told from points of view other than Aelin’s, and we get to know those characters, both old and new, more intimately. They hook up, and unexpectedly Lorcan helps her because he wants to find Aelin and Rowan, but Elide’s innocence changes him in unexpected ways. ![]() I particularly like the adventures of Lorcan, a fae who is hunting Rowan, and Elide, a new character who is looking for Aelin to join her cause. The book is told from various points of view, and we get to know more about old as well as new characters. If you have been reading the series, expect for Chaol, the old characters return, and lots of new ones show up in this book. It’s also the story of various characters converging toward Aelin to either help her or hinder her. In a nutshell, this book is about Aelin and company trying to gather allies to help her retake her kingdom. I think this memory glitch was because the story has the feel of a slow cobbling together of an army from nothing, and most of the book isn’t fast-paced. ![]() Maas back in February and had to go back to review what happened in this book. ![]() First, I read Empire of Storms by Sarah J. ![]()
