![]() Indeed it seems that discussion about the novel’s ending was one – if not the sole – reason why Barry’s book did not win the 2008 Man Booker prize (without taking anything away from Aravind Adiga’s deserved winner The White Tiger). It’s almost impossible, though, to talk about Sebastian Barry‘s The Secret Scripture without discussing the ending. ![]() What makes us choose one book over another is an area where the ending doesn’t come into play.Ī handy approach that also spares us the risk of ruining someone’s reading, by discussing in fine detail a cliff-hanger. ![]() This blog has often focussed on great openings to novels, interested particularly in that magical moment where you, the reader, accept an opening contract from the author. ![]()

Unhinged book onley james7/8/2023 ![]() I went in expecting something gritty, with interesting relationship dynamics. This is book one in the Necessary Evils series. There’s gratuitous violence, very dark humor, enough steam to fog up a hundred car windows, and something a lot like love. ![]() It features a dirty-talking, possessive psychopath and a sweet cinnamon roll of a boy with daddy issues and a core of steel. ![]() Unhinged is a fast-paced roller-coaster ride of a romance with an HEA and no cliff-hangers. But he refuses to let Noah go, and Noah’s not sure he wants him to.Ĭan Adam prove to Noah that passion, power, and protection are just as good as love? The two share a mutual attraction, but, deep down, Noah knows Adam’s not like other boys. Since their confrontation, Adam is obsessed with Noah, and he wants to help him uncover the answers he seeks, however dark they may be. Unable to ignore his own surfacing memories, Noah embarks on a quest to find the truth about his childhood with the help of an unlikely ally: the very person who murdered his father. ![]() Noah Holt has spent years dreaming of vengeance for the death of his father, but when faced with his killer, he learns a daunting truth he can’t escape. Tropic of capricorn miller7/7/2023 ![]() ![]() However, if you look at the soul of the book rather then the skin you will see why so many people, like me, have fallen in love with Miller's prose. These books are usually classified as erotica and yes the sex and langue can get very offensive. Both books however focus on his inner thoughts towards various topics. Unlike Cancer, Capricorn is set in New York City rather than Paris. You get more of Miller's philosophy in this book. ![]() ![]() The beginning and the end however have a ton of inspiring quotes and material though. There is no plot with this book at all, just the middle part he started talking about all these various women he's had sex with and it was something I really didn't care about. This one started out well and end well, just the middle got a little overwhelming for me. ![]()

The rational male book 57/7/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Today's statistics show that women find only 4.5% of men attractive…attractive enough to initiate a dialogue with them. The average guy is overweight, underemployed, low-or-no education, rudderless and purposeless in life and love. Game is a craft that sets Players apart from Average men. We need a Players Handbook to guide the practice of all Game.ĭrawing on over 20 years of evolutionary psychology, biology, sociology, and anthropology, The Players Handbook fluidly addresses the natures of men and women’s intersexual dynamics. We need a reference manual for all dating coaches, relationship experts, as well as married men and would-be Players. We need a modern Game textbook based on empirical, 21st-century data, not emotional hopefulness. While the rapid conditions of that marketplace are in constant change, the human-machine does not. Game is an adaptive set of social skills and best practices in navigating intersexual dynamics in a modern sexual marketplace. It’s not an instruction manual – it is the missing textbook on Game and understanding intersexual dynamics. ![]() ![]() The Players Handbook is not a "how-to" book, it's a "why-it-works" book. In this final master-work of The Rational Male Series, Rollo Tomassi breaks down the fundamental mechanics of Game, intersexual social skills, and the nuts & bolts psychology that makes it work. And I am here blabbering and not giving this book it’s due – a book review rather than my life story on this blog post.Ĭan you keep a Secret is all that I hate in a rom-com where the boss is in love with a reportee who is none too brilliant or exceptional and who is even callous and careless so many times. ![]() I had loved reading Mills and Boons back to back during college days, but oh those were the days.
